2014 Valspar Championship - Vegas Odds, Free Picks + Tee Times
The Tampa Bay Championship has a sponsor in 2014, and will now be known as the Valspar Championship. The tournament will still be held at the famed Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida at Copperhead. Formerly called the Transitions Championship in 2012, the tournament was without a sponsor last year but the PGA Tour still put the event on because of the support the host city has for this event. The 2014 Valspar Championship will begin on Thursday, March 13th and go through Sunday, March 16th.
Innisbrook is one of the favorite courses of the players, providing one of the most difficult challenges of a regular Tour stop. Innisbrook is long, narrow, and demanding. Past winners of the event are typically high up on the stat sheet in green in regulation and scrambling. Players will be hard-pressed to skate by Copperhead without making bogeys on their card.
Catch all of the bogeys and birdies being made at Copperhead for the 2014 Valspar Championship on Golf Channel on Thursday and Friday beginning at 3pm ET. Golf Channel will also pick up live coverage of the weekend rounds beginning at 1pm ET and will supplement NBC's coverage starting at 3pm ET.

Innisbrook - Copperhead, Palm Harbor, Fl
Located in beautiful Palm Harbor in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, Innisbrook is both a luxury resort and a championship-level golf club. It is famous to enthusiasts of the sport for its prominent placement as a PGA Tour hosting venue.
The Innisbrook actually offers four unique golf courses, all of which were designed by the great Larry Packard. The oldest of these is the Island Course, a par-71 with a length of 7,310 yards. More important to PGA buffs, however, is the Copperhead Course, which was designed in 1974 and currently hosts such events as the Valspar Championship. The Copperhead Course is also a par-71 with a total yardage of 7,340.
Simply put, the Innisbrook complex is one of the true hotspots in Florida golf—and given this most generous setup, it is not difficult to understand why.

Free Picks For 2014 Valspar championship
PGABettingOdds.com Pick To Win - Going into the 2014 Valspar Championship we're feeling partial to Harris English even though he is near the top of the list of favorites. At 18/1 (+1800) he's not on the top line yet, but that could change if a large amount of money is wagered on him before the start of the tourney. Why do we like him? He's got the most top-10 finishes this year, and he gives himself a chance to make birdie more often than not. English finished 7th in this event last year and now he has the experience of winning an event after capturing the OHL Mayakoba Classic earlier this season.
Darkhorse Value Pick - If this one hits, you can give thanks by making checks payable to... Just kidding but we sure do hope Justin Leonard can make an impact this week. While you might not want to wager on 125/1 odds to win this week on the PGA Tour, Leonard could be a good pick for a top-5 or top-10 finish instead (when the odds become available). Several factors go into thinking Leonard could be in the mix at some point and maybe even enough so to win. First, the man simply doesn't 3-putt much. Then one must weigh in that after playing in the final pairing on Sunday with eventual winner Kevin Streelman, Leonard placed in a tie for 4th place at this event in 2013. A closer examinination of his recent body of work is mixed however he does own at top-3 finish (Humana Challenge) and he finished in 6th at Mayakoba, the same event our other 18/1 pick ended up capturing.
The pairings for the Thursday and Friday rounds at Innisbrook will likely be available on the Tuesday before the tournament. Upon the release of those pairings, we will have them here and talk about some of the top groups to watch. We will also have 3-ball betting odds for the first day, plus update the 3-ball lines throughout the week.
We've taken a few minutes to highlight a few of the groups which are more likely to have a bigger impact on the outcome of this tourney. That doesn't mean a player in one of these groups is going to win but these will draw some of the larger galleries in Tampa. Listed beside each player in the group are their odds (3-ball betting lines) to have the low score among the players in their group for THURSDAY's round.

2013 Valspar Championship
Kevin Streelman was the epitome of a journeyman on the PGA Tour. He first began playing the mini-tours before finally earning his card. He played in 152 PGA Tour events without a win. They don't say that the 153rd time is the charm, but for Streelman that is exactly what it was when he captured his first PGA Tour win at the 2013 Tampa Bay Championship. Streelman played superbly on the weekend en-route to bogey-free rounds on Saturday + Sunday.
Streelman held off a big move up the leaderboard by Boo Weekley, who teed off more than three hours ahead of him in the final round. Steelman's final round 67 gave him a two-shot win over Weekley, who came in with a blistering 63 on Sunday.
