Rio Secco GC, Henderson, Nevada
Located in Henderson, Nevada, the Rio Secco Golf Club is well-known for golf enthusiasts—not least because of its role as the host of the annual Tiger Jam event. The course also hosts a number of other competitions, many of them charitable events like the VegasGolfer Pro Showdown.
Routinely honored as one of the top casino courses and as one of the top courses in the western United States, Rio Secco was designed and built in 1997. The golf course architect behind the project was Rees Jones, who envisioned a course snugly built into the Black Mountain foothills. What makes the course noteworthy—and treacherous, even to seasoned players—is how it makes use of so many different kinds of terrain, winding through canyons before moving onto plateaus, coming to an end in an ominous desert territory. The course has a par of 72 and total yardage of 7,332.
In the year of its opening, it was honored as one of the top 10 best new golf courses in the country, both by Golf Magazine and by Golf Digest, and it remains well-regarded to this day.
Vegas Odds For 2013 Wendys 3-Tour challenge
Betting Odds for the 2013 Wendy's 3-Tour Challenge will be formed the week of the event, or perhaps the week prior should the teams be announced. There will be three payouts, one for each of the teams. Unlike a typical PGA Tour event, there will not be adjusted betting lines because it's only two-day competition and it's not an official event.
Free Picks For 2013 Wendys 3-Tour Challenge
We will make a pick for the winner of the 2013 Wendy's 3-Tour Challenge the day before it begins. With only three different choices, it won't be going outside of the box to pick any one of them. It should be a tough match for all three teams, and the winners will really have to play well.
Tee times for the tournament should be released during the week. There will only be three different groupings so there isn't the disparity typically seen on the PGA Tour. But PGABettingOdds.com will still bring you the tee times when available.
2012 - Wendy's 3-Tour Challenge
It was a very close 2012 Wendy's 3-Tour Challenge, but in the end the PGA Tour team comprised of Jason Day, Davis Love III, Nick Watney won. The PGA Tour team defeated the LPGA Tour team in a sudden-death playoff on the second hole, courtesy of Day's birdie. Stacy Lewis and Cristie Kerr both carded back-nine rounds of 31 to pull even with the PGA Tour team and force the extra play. Day stuck his approach shot from the fairway just five-feet from the hole, forcing Lewis to have to make her birdie. She missed, and Day capitalized to propel his team to a win.
