The BMW Championship
The BMW Championship is contested at various venues each year. In 2013, Conway Farms will be the host course. Conway Farms was established in 1991. This is the first PGA Tour event that Conway Farms has hosted in its history and a good showing means it could be a continued venue in the future rotation in the run to the FedEx Cup.
The top-70 players from the FedEx Cup points standings from the previous week (Deutsche Bank Championship) will advance to play in the BMW Championship. But the field will be cut by more than half going into the final week of the playoffs at the TOUR Championship. Only 30 players will move on, so this is a critical week for many on the edge.
The winner of the BMW Championship will receive 2,500 FedEx Cup points.
What Happened In 2012?
Continuing his assault on the 2012 FedEx Cup Playoffs, Rory McIlroy came to the third event of the four, the BMW Championship, and won for the second-straight week to move to No.1 in the rankings with only the TOUR Championship remaining. McIlroy won by two shots over lee Westwood and Phil Mickelson, as well as by three shots over Tiger Woods. The leaderboard at the top doesn't get much better than that does it? McIlroy continued his solid play during final rounds, shooting a 5-under par round of 67 on Sunday to win by two.
2013 BMW Championship - What To Look For...
Henrik Stenson leads the field coming into the BMW Championship this year coming off of a strong performance last week at the 2013 Deutsche Bank Championship. Winning by two strokes over Steve Stricker, Stenson shot 22 under-par for the tournament and figures to be a contender now that he holds a slim, albeit outright lead in the 2013 FedEx Cup Standings.
Still, there are several strong players in the field which made the top-70 and this week promises to be as exciting as any as only the top-30 will survive to play for the Tour Championship at East Lake GC. Names like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, and last year's BMW Championship winner, Rory McIlroy, will all be in the field + all figure to play a factor.
This will be the first time a professional event has been played at Conway Farms so here is a little bit of info about about the course: Par 71 - 7,216 Yards - 75.8 Rating - 149 Slope - Tom Fazio Designed
Vegas Lines For 2013 BMW Championship
Tiger Woods (5/1) +500 - Woods fell down one spot this week to Stenson, but remains a big favorite to win the BMW Championship at 5/1 at Bovada Sportsbook. He is more than twice the favorite as the player closest to him on the betting line. Woods just needs a solid performance to secure a top-five spot heading into the Tour Championship. A win would get him back to No.1, and a much easier time to capture the FedEx Cup championship.
Adam Scott (12/1) +1200 - After winning the first playoff event, Scott could only muster a T53 finish at the Deutsche Bank Championship this past weekend. Scott is third on the FedEx Cup standings, and at 12/1 is the favorite behind Woods. A win this week would give Scott two of three FedEx playoff event wins so far and put him to No.1 in the rankings for the Tour Championship.
Henrik Stenson (12/1) +1200 - It seemed like only a matter of time until Stenson was able to break through with that first win in 2013. He did so at a great time as well, with the victory vaulting him to No.1 in the standings. Stenson is one of the best ball strikers on the PGA Tour, and the setup at the BMW Championship looks like it could be a good one for him.
Phil Mickelson 12/1 (+1200) - Mickelson started off at the Deutsche Bank Championship with the 18-hole lead, but finished 72 holes with that same mark in relation to par at 8-under. The T41 performance hasn't deterred oddsmakers from picking Mickelson among the favorites this week. Lefty could use a win or a nice performance to get him into the top-five, as he sits in sixth place on the FedEx Cup standings.
Justin Rose 18/1 (+1800) - Rose almost won The Barclays a couple of weeks ago, and then finished T16 at the Deutsche Bank Championship on Monday. He is playing consistent golf right now and is definitely a player to look at for the BMW Championship when it gets going. Rose would love nothing more then to add a FedEX Cup championship to his U.S. Open win this season.

Our Winner Pick - With many of the game's top players in the world playing well, it makes picking a winner tough. At 45 to 1 odds, you are going to love us on Monday if that one comes through!
